Tanya Selvaratnam once wrote, “The most dangerous place in the world for a woman is her own home”. That statement is bolstered by research from the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence — domestic violence affects millions of women every year.

My heart drops when I think of the number of women (whom I know personally) that have been victims.

The number is utterly jarring! Do you know what is even more vexing? The number of women who are too afraid to admit that they experienced domestic abuse … or dealing with it currently.

The victim? His wife. He is accused of choking his wife.

The alleged event occurred the morning of the day that he appeared in a candidate’s candidate forum for Bronx Borough President. I watched that…
